Karakuri (Japanese for "trick mechanism") are devices whose mechanical movement is designed solely to amuse or surprise. Karakuri Paper Animation kits by designer Keisuke Saka are thoughtful with only a few moving parts, yet produce elegant movement. The kits require cutting, folding, gluing and about 2 hrs. of time to complete. The robot stands 10" tall and its base is 4" across.
