Liquitex Soft Body Tube Acrylics

Liquitex makes acrylics in three consistencies: Soft Body, Heavy Body, and Super Heavy Body. All three have the same amount of pigment per ounce of product. But, each is mixed with a different medium which controls how the pigment molecules slide past each other when pushed by a brush or painting knife. The Soft Body acrylics slide easily for painting in thinner layers or on cloth and leather. They have been available in jars for many years known as Liquitex Medium Viscosity. Now, as Liquitex Soft Body Acrylics, they are made in 2oz. tubes as well as 8 and 32oz. jars. Same great formula.

Airbrush Mediums

Airbrush Mediums allow the 'thinning' of acrylics to be used in airbrushes or to increase transparency while maintaining a strong paint film. Never use just water to thin acrylic paints. Cracking, peeling and fading may result. Liquitex, Createx and Golden all make excellent airbrush mediums.
Modeling Paste

Molding Paste by Golden is 100% Acrylic while Liquitex Modeling Paste by Liquitex adds marble dust to the acrylic to allow carving. Both are used to make 3D or thick applications with the Liquiitex being a bit more rigid. Opaque.
Gessoes & Grounds

These gesso products feature an acrylic resin base for quick drying and excellent adhesion. Can be used as a base for oil, alkyd and acrylic paints. Apply many thin coats for best results. Golden Gesso and Liquitex Gesso are preferred by pros while the Basics Gesso and Hyatt's Economy Gesso offer great performance at a lower cost. Black gesso allows a dark base coat to save paint.
Wood Stains

These Americana acrylic based wood stains allow tinting of raw wood to various wood colors. They can also be used to faux finish surfaces to simulate real wood.
